M&M's adaptation of The Little Princess is our anti-bullying show aimed at primary school children of all ages. This classic novel has been carefully adapted and re-created to ensure it is hugely appealing, colourful, and extremely thought provoking. The show continues to strengthen M&M Theatrical Productions reputation for delivering Classic Literature in an easily digestible children's theatre format. The strong anti-bullying theme encased within the story provides teachers with an excellent backdrop from which to initiate classroom discussion on the sometimes sensitive subject of bullying. By the author of “The Secret Garden”, Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic tale of “A Little Princess” takes us to Miss Minchin’s School for Girls in London during the early nineteen hundreds where we meet the central character in the story, Sara Crewe. When Sara’s father, who is a captain in the army, is pronounced “missing in action” Sara is reduced from enormous wealth to terrible poverty. At Miss Minchin’s school where she had been a privileged student, she is now forced to work as a servant. But Sara has a loving heart and a quick imagination and she knows that with the right spirit, she can remain a princess inside. National Curriculum links |
